March 30, 2011

Finally an adventure. From Cappadocia I wanted to get to Dogubayazit (Eastern border of Turkey) but I didn't succeed. In Sivas I met an interesting guy from Lithuania, who has been traveling for 13 months around Europe. His record - 57 000 km hitchhiked during one year. From Sivas we caught a lift together to  Erzurum. The drivers who gave us a lift demanded money for their "hospitality". Unsuccessfully, though it was a little nervous. Then other guys invited us for a kebab and promised to help in finding an accommodation. But instead they brought us to the police. Before we entered the police office a shopkeeper nearby saved us, by inviting us inside his shop. He gave us tea, and asked to read muslim books. Then his countrymen came and took us to their house, gave us dinner and beds to sleep.
