May 2, 2011

Recently I've been talking to James who's called "the Jesus guy". People used to think he's an epitome of the "Jerusalem syndrome". He has been living for 19 years as the gospel calls from day to day without worrying about tomorrow, with no property. No luggage, only the liturgy of hours, toothbrush and a blanket. It inspires to "go with the flow" and to be open. My mp3 with Arabic lessons and the mobile broke down, it appears I had too much electronic gear. At least the camera works
I'm working in a hostel only for 3 hours a day (9-12), so I have plenty of time for sightseeing, etc. in the afternoon (in the morning I go often to a mass at the Holy Sepulchre or at the Franciscans). I visited Bethlehem this afternoon, which would belong to the city if there wasn't any wall. I've seen the Nativity Church of the Nativity, Aida refugee camp and (accidentally) I've been at the AIC (Alternative Information Centre -which is involved into bringing justice to the Palestinians).
