Two days ago after entering Cambodia I cought a ride to Siam REap -first a tractor, then on a rooftop of filled up pick-up (it was raining). Today I was lucky to join a group going to the "floating village" where vietnamese river nomads live, it was very picturesqe. Siem Reap is unfortunately trampled by tourists, dolars are in common use (local currency is used when you need to get change for a dolar). In Cambodia they have democracy since 1993, but the prime minister is ruling since 1985...
Yesterday from sunrise till sunset I was visiting Angkor Wat and the nearby temples, they are impressing.
A hostel my friend recommended me to stay in (appeared to be recommended also by "lonely planet") is only for a dolar, but the party climate, musik till late at night, it was hard to get a good sleep, and to get up early. Tourism is spoiling the place, sometimes stalked like in India (fortunately only sometimes), I think it's just in the popular places. As in consequence I'm beginning to appreciate even more places considered as dangeruous, where you'll meet less tourists.
