Staying in Amman (the first time in a long time in a hostel - cheap) made me a little lazy. Since yesterday I've been travelling around Jordan while waiting for a visa to Iran.
Today, finally, the famous Petra. Impressive indeed but I've heard so much about it that I was a little bit disappointed. I guess I'm a bit spoiled;) I've noticed, that some advertised places are not so attractive (Madaba, Karak), and others not so much promoted (the valley of Dana, Wadi Mujib) can be more interesting.
In Jordan like in Syria, you can see pictures of King Abdullah II everywhere (in Syria, of course, the presidents images) He is very popular here on the contrary to the president of Syria (in Syria, of course). So yesterday some small protest in Amman weren't directed against the king but against the prime minister.
